Ainol releasing dual-core Novo 7 Crystal tablet: Jelly Bean and an IPS display for $139

Chinese tablet maker Ainol is stepping up from its ICS-running Novo 7 to the Novo 7 Crystal, a new dual-core 1.5GHz model running Jelly Bean for $139. Below the hood is an Amlogic 8726-M6 Cortex A9 processor, a Mali 400 GPU, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage. The 7-inch touchscreen display sports a 1,024 x 600 resolution, and Ainol chose an IPS panel for wide viewing angles -- that's not exactly common for a tab in this price range. The whole package weighs 0.72 pounds (328 grams) and measures 0.4 inches (11.2mm) thick, and the tablet will be available in black and white.
The Novo 7 Crystal will be WiFi-only (802.11n), though there's room for a 3G modem on board, and connections include a microSD card slot, mini-USB port and mini-HDMI. Notebook Italia says the Crystal will start shipping on September 28th, though we've yet to see any official word on availability. Click through to the source links for more details.

HTC One X+ coming with quad-core processor, Android 4.1

HTC will introduce the successor of One X with tweaked hardware and Android 4.1 Jelly Bean along with Sense 4.5 user interface.

HTC is all set to release the successor handset of its One X smartphone, which is dubbed as One X+ or One X Plus. The specifications of the upcoming HTC One X+ with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean were shared on Twitter by Football4PDA named enthusiast developer. It will have almost the same specification as the One X smartphone except a new quad-core 1.6 GHz Nvidia Tegra AP37 mobile processor.
HTC introduced One X earlier this year with much fanfare and also released an update recently to give the taste of HTC Sense 4.1 to the users. Meanwhile, the company is busy making a slightly better version of that handset and will brand it as One X+ for the masses.

The new HTC One X+ will feature a 1.6 GHz clocked quad-core Nvidia Tegra 3 AP37 mobile processor coupled with 1 GB RAM. The Nvidia Tegra 3 AP37 processor will be tweaked to run at 1.7 GHz on single core too. Packing 32 GB on-board storage, the HTC One X+ will come loaded with Android 4.1 Jelly Bean with HTC Sense 4.5 user interface.
The HTC One X users will have to wait till the end of this year for the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update. Pricing of the HTC One X+ could not be judged but can be expected to be almost near the HTC One X smartphone.

According to a Twitter user, the Windows Phone 8 running HTC 8X smartphone will have a 4.3-inch display and dual-core mobile processor inside.

More details of HTC 8X, which is expected to be announced any time soon, has now pouring in. Now the specifications of the upcoming HTC 8X (Accord) with Windows Phone 8 were shared on Twitter by Football4PDA, an enthusiast developer. Football4PDA also shared a press image of the HTC 8X and noted that the launch event is scheduled on September 19 this month.
Earlier, as The Mobile Indian had also reported, it came to light that HTC is working to introduce a new Windows Phone 8 based smartphone dubbed as HTC 8X and nicknamed Accord. Now the image of HTC 8X's official specifications in a way confirm what is in store for the consumers.

The HTC 8X is expected to come with a 4.3-inch touch screen display and will house a dual-core 1.2 GHz mobile processor and here we assume this too is one of the Qualcomm Snapdragon S4 mobile chip. To power the Windows Phone 8 mobile operating system, HTC has added 1 GB RAM.
HTC has tried to make an interesting improvement in the camera with f/2.0 aperture and 28mm lens bearing 8 megapixel image sensor at the back. This rear camera has auto focus and LED Flash making it capable of recording full 1080p HD at 30 frames per second. In the front rests an ultra-wide angle camera for video chat. Other features include GPS, WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, and NFC.
The HTC 8X is expected to be launched with other devices codenamed as HTC Rio and HTC Zenith.

Samsung GALAXY S DUOS Specs And Photo Leaked; Looks A Lot Like The GALAXY S III

Fans of dual-SIM GSM phones running Android will be delighted with the latest rumour making the rounds regarding the Samsung GALAXY S DUOS. The leaked specs sheet of the smartphone, also known by the model name S7562, shows that the Android 4.0 (Ice Cream Sandwich) handset sports a 4" TFT capacitive multi-touch screen with pixel dimensions of 480x800. Powered by a 1 GHz Cortex-A5 CPU and Adreno 200 GPU, the phone has 512 MB RAM, 4 GB internal storage, and a 32 GB microSD slot. Along with an LED flash enabled 5 mp rear auto-focus camera, a front VGA camera will help in video calling through the supported 3G and Wi-Fi. Samsung currently has three dual-SIM GSM phones in India: the GALAXY Ace DUOS, Y DUOS, and the Y Pro DUOS, launched earlier this year. Here are the detailed device specifications:

A leaked image shows the device with a white polymer body that sports a styling very similar to the GALAXY S III, the company's flagship smartphone. The only apparent difference appears to be a slightly modified Home button. I'm not sure if this is a good idea, because people who pay a premium for flagship phones will expect some sort of exclusivity for their gadgets. If relatively cheap phones look exactly like top-end models, isn't it apparent to Samsung's product managers that the flaunt value for the latter will drop sharply?
MySmartPrice.com has mentioned that this smartphone is expected to debut in India by the end of this year. Apple patent lawsuit targets more Samsung devices including Samsung Galaxy S III

You may have thought things were over for Samsung after last week’s loss to Apple in the highly-covered patent lawsuit between the two. Surely the $1.0+ billion judgment and ensuing stock losses for Samsung are enough to drive them out of the smartphone and tablet markets. For all the hype, last week’s jury verdict in favor of Apple was just one battle in a war. Even Apple recognizes this. Rather than sitting on their laurels and waiting for Samsung and the rest of the world’s Android manufacturers to slink off in defeat, Apple was back to work in a San Jose federal court filing documents on Friday. This time, it is a request to add more devices from Samsung to a case filed back in February 2012 alleging a variety of patent infringements. The original lawsuit covered 17 devices that had been produced between August 2011 and the filing. The new request adds four more devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S III. Nor word or response from Samsung yet regarding the latest filing.

Samsung unveils the Galaxy Camera with quad-core CPU,16MP lens, and 21x zoom

Samsung already announced the Galaxy Note II, but that wasn’t enough. The Galaxy Camera was just unveiled as well, which will feature a 4.8-inch display, quad-core CPU, 16MP lens, 21x zoom, WiFi, 3G, and 4G. It just won’t be about pictures as users will be also be able to edit and share high quality photographs and video easily and spontaneously from anywhere and at any time.
It features “Smart Pro” technology, which is a series of modes that help users make professional-looking photos. With the easy-to-navigate menu system, users can choose from a series of preset scenarios which will automatically adjust the camera’s settings. Examples are the Rich Tone setting, which reduces overexposure in bright surroundings and Light Trace, which automatically controls shutter speed for night scenes. You can even zoom in or shoot with voice commands.


Editing is important for anyone that likes to take photos and the Galaxy Camera delivers. The Photo Wizard allows users to make edits on the go. It features things like Auto Face Calibration so edits are more precise. The Movie Wizard also allows you to create and edit videos.
The Smart Content Manager is an organization tool which lets users create folders, tag faces, it even suggests which pictures to delete when they don’t come out as desired.
Since the Galaxy Camera has Android 4.1 Jelly Bean and connectivity, you can browse the Web or share photos easily. You can even play a game if you so choose.
For sharing it has Share Shot (introduced in the Galaxy S III) so when you take a photo, others with compatible devices will get the photo as well. If your worried about backing up your photos, worry no more. The Galaxy Camera has an Auto Cloud Backup feature, which will automatically save your photos to the cloud via Samsung’s AllShare the instant they are taken.

ZTE announces the ZTE Grand X IN for Europe, features Intel Inside

ZTE, best known for their mid-range mobile devices, announced today their newest flagship device – the ZTE Grand X IN. This announcement comes just a little over two weeks after the announcement of the ZTE Grand X, but the highlight of the Grand X IN is that it’s the first Ice Cream Sandwich device in Europe powered by Intel Inside. The Intel Atom Z2460 processor with Intel Hyper-Threading should provide a more efficient and snappier experience than the Grand X. The device will share the same screen size as the Grand X (4.3-inches), however it will nearly double the RAM bringing it up to 1GB, and also pack an 8MP camera compared to the 5MP on the Grand X. Other features include a 1650 mAh battery, HSPA+ 21Mbps, and an expandable SD slot up to 32GB.
The device is planned for release in Europe in September. There is no word on pricing at this time, but as a comparison, the Grand X sits just short of the £200 mark on “pay as you go” so we can obviously expect the Grand X IN to come in a little north of that figure.
