"Our first offing in the Xolo series is Xolo 900 and in the coming months we will adding one entry level Android phone that will be around Rs 10,000 and a mid-range smartphone that will be in price range of Rs. 15,000,” Sunil Raina, business head - Xolo, Lava International is quoted as saying.
Lava Mobiles yesterday announced global launch of its first Intel-based smartphone, Xolo X900 in India.
Priced at Rs. 22,000, the Lava Xolo X900 is powered by Intel's single-core 1.6GHz Atom Z2460 mobile processor (with Hyper-Threading), code-named Medfield.
The new Lava smartphone runs on Android v2.3 Gingerbread platform; though the company claims of rolling out an Ice Cream Sandwich update in near future. Besides the much-hyped Intel chip, the Xolo 900 sports a 4.03-inch touchscreen display with display with 1024×600 pixels resolution (295 ppi), Near Field Communication (NFC) capabilities, and micro-HDMI. Intel's Atom Z2460 SoC comes with PowerVR SGX540 GPU clocked at 400MHz.
The Lava Xolo X900 comes with a an 8MP and a 1.3MP front facing camera. The built-in storage will be 16GB, with microSD card support up to 32GB. The handset also has 1GB of RAM ( 32-bit Dual channel LPDDR2). To learn more about the new Xolo X900, read our previous coverage here.
